Legia

Mobile App Development

Legia builds Android and iOS apps for operational needs and customer service, using a cross-platform or native approach as needed. The work covers design, build, and publication on the Play Store and App Store.

Pricing

How much does Mobile App Development cost?

Cost is based on the number of screens and the platforms targeted. A cross-platform approach is generally more economical than two separately built native apps, but the choice follows the need.

  • Number of screens and flows in the app
  • Target platforms: Android, iOS, or both
  • On-device data storage and sync needs
  • Use of the camera, location, or other hardware
  • Backend and integration with existing systems

How Legia does it

A general view of the order and length of each stage. A change in scope moves the estimate, and the details are agreed after the consultation.

  1. Needs assessment & platform choice 1–2 weeks
  2. Flow and interface design 2–3 weeks
  3. Staged build Every 2–3 weeks
  4. Testing on real devices 1–2 weeks
  5. Publishing & handover 1–3 weeks

Technology

Technology we build with

The tools actually used on this work. The choice adapts to the systems you already run rather than being forced into one mold.

Cross-platform

One codebase for Android and iOS, for needs that do not demand native performance.

  • React Native

Native

Built separately for each system, for needs that demand the best performance or the deepest device access.

  • Kotlin
  • Swift

Supporting services

Server-side services for authentication, notifications, and data storage.

  • Firebase

Testing and publishing

The official routes for sending test builds to your phone and publishing the app to the stores.

  • TestFlight
  • Play Console

Why Legia

What you receive

An app on the app stores involves more than code. These five things are what you hold once the app is live.

  1. 01 · Ownership

    Published under your account

Apps are published using Play Store and App Store accounts in your company's name, not Legia's.

  2. 02 · Engineering

    Code and signing files

The source code, technical documentation, and app signing files are all handed over to you.

  3. 03 · Ownership

    Security from the design stage

Role-based login, an activity log recording who changed what, automatic backups, and security checks, complete with the backend that supports them.

  4. 04 · Time

    Publishing support

Support through publishing, including handling it if the app is rejected during Apple or Google review.

  5. 05 · Design

    Training and support

Team training and a support period once the app is in use.

What is a mobile app development service?

A mobile app development service designs, builds, and publishes apps for Android and iOS phones. Legia does it with a cross-platform or native approach as needed, complete with backend and security, then publishes it in your company's name.

How much does mobile app development cost?

Cost depends on the number of screens and flows, the platform and approach chosen (cross-platform or native), backend needs and integration with existing systems, and special needs such as camera, location, or on-device data storage. Legia gives the figure after the needs assessment, and that stage can be taken separately.

What is the difference between native and cross-platform apps, and which do I need?

Native apps are built separately for Android and iOS, so they cost nearly twice as much, with the highest performance. Cross-platform apps are built once for both systems and are quicker to update. Legia chooses the approach to fit the need, cross-platform, native, or both, and explains the reasoning at the assessment stage.

What is the difference between a mobile app and a web app?

A mobile app is installed from an app store and can use the phone's camera, GPS, and notifications, but needs updating to follow Android and iOS versions. A web app opens in a browser without installation and is quicker to update, but access to phone hardware is limited. Legia says which makes more sense from the first session, including when a web app is enough.

Who owns the Play Store and App Store accounts?

The app is published using accounts in your company's name, not Legia's. The source code, documentation, and signing files are all handed over to you, so future updates do not depend on Legia.

What annual costs apply after the app is released?

There are two kinds of running costs. First, developer account fees: Apple charges annually, Google is a one-time payment. Second, the cost of updating the app to follow the Android and iOS versions released each year. Without updates, an app can be rejected from the store or stop working.

Is there a maintenance scheme after the app is released?

Yes. Legia covers fixes for errors in its work during the warranty period agreed in the contract, followed by a subscription maintenance scheme for updates following Android and iOS versions, fixes, and server upkeep. Your internal team can also take over with the documentation handed over.

What security is in mobile apps Legia builds?

The same as web apps: role-based login, an activity log recording who changed what and when, automatic server-side backups, and security checks on the system. The scope of checks and the backup schedule are agreed at the needs assessment stage.

Is the backend or app server included?

Yes. A mobile app needs a server and API to store data and connect its users, and Legia builds them together. If you already have a system, the app can be connected to it and the scope is assessed at the needs assessment.

Can the app be used without an internet connection?

That can be discussed. An app can be designed to store data on the device and sync it when a signal returns, and this need adds complexity and cost. Whether it is worthwhile for your app is determined at the needs assessment stage.

Does the app have to be published on the Play Store and App Store?

Not necessarily. Apps for employees can be distributed internally without going through the app stores, which is faster and keeps the content out of public view. For apps used by customers, publishing on the app stores is still needed.

How long does it take to build a mobile app until it can be used?

An app with a mid-size scope generally takes 3–6 months from the needs assessment to release on the app stores. Review by Apple and Google adds a few days to a few weeks, and rejection on the first submission is common.

What if requirements change mid-project?

Changes are logged as separate requests, assessed for their impact on time and cost, then agreed before they are carried out. No extra work is done first and billed at the end.
