How much does Server Installation & Management cost?

Cost depends on the number of servers handled and how much of the old system needs to be moved. A new installation and a migration from a running system are not the same weight.

  • Number of servers and environments managed
  • Volume of data moved
  • Availability level requested
  • Scope of monitoring and backups
  • Incident-handling service hours

For migrations, Legia copies and tests the system on the new server first, runs it alongside the old one, then switches over in a time window you set. If a problem occurs, the system can be returned to the old server.

Why Legia

What you receive

A server running smoothly is only half the job. These five things keep you in control, including if you need to move to someone else.

  1. 01 · Ownership

    Accounts in your name

Full access to servers and all infrastructure accounts stays in your company's name, and can be revoked at any time.

  2. 02 · Ownership

    Documented configuration

Server configuration documentation lists what is installed, where, and why, so another team can take over without guessing.

  3. 03 · Reports

    Monthly report

A monthly report covering server availability, incidents, security updates applied, and resource use.

  4. 04 · Infrastructure

    Automatic backups

Backups run automatically and restoration is tested when first set up. Periodic restore tests are scheduled if agreed in the contract.

  5. 05 · Engineering

    A clear escalation path

A clear escalation path when something goes wrong, with a responsible person on both sides.

What is a server installation and management service?

A server installation service gets a server ready for use: installing the operating system, configuring, securing, and moving the system from an old server if there is one. Server management continues it every month through monitoring, updates, backups, and incident handling. Legia handles physical servers in the office, virtual servers, and cloud, on Linux and Windows Server.

How much does server installation and management cost?

One-off installation and monthly management are billed separately. The basis is the number of servers, the service level chosen, and the scope of handling hours. Legia gives the details after the initial infrastructure audit.

Is there a minimum subscription period?

Monthly management runs with a minimum 12-month subscription, so monitoring, updates, and reports have a history that can be compared. One-off installation and migration are not tied to a subscription.

Are server rental fees or cloud bills included?

No. Legia's service fee is separate from server or cloud bills. The infrastructure provider's bills are paid directly by you in your company's name, so you can keep monitoring and controlling usage. Paid software licenses are also billed directly by their provider.

Do servers have to move to the cloud?

Not always. Servers in your own office still make sense if you are required to keep data on company-owned infrastructure, or if usage is stable and predictable. Legia shares a cost comparison before you decide.

Who holds the root access and the cloud accounts?

All infrastructure accounts are created in your company's name. Legia works using the access you grant, and that access can be revoked at any time without disrupting system operations.

What security is installed on the server?

Configuration hardening and operating system patching, a firewall, SSH keys and two-step authentication for admin access, access rights set per person, and access logs. Unused openings are closed, and the result is recorded in the configuration documentation.

What happens if a server has a problem outside working hours?

Monitoring runs automatically around the clock and sends an alert as soon as something goes wrong. Handling by the team follows the service hours and severity levels written in your contract, with incidents that stop the service handled first.

Can Legia manage servers built by another vendor?

Yes, after an initial infrastructure audit. The audit maps the security condition, configuration, and how backups run, and Legia then shares the findings along with the fixes that need to be made first.

How long does a server migration usually take?

A mid-size system migration generally takes 2–4 weeks, including copying, testing, and a period running alongside the old server. The full switch is done in a time window you set, and if a problem occurs the system can be returned to the old server.

How does this differ from website maintenance, IT Support & Infrastructure Management, and DevOps?

Website maintenance looks after the website and its content. IT Support & Infrastructure Management handles devices and users in your office. DevOps streamlines how applications are released to servers. Server management keeps the server itself running, secure, and fast.
